Ras Slick arrives in Jamaica

Jamaica Star, October 26, 2013

Maryland-based reggae recording artiste Ras Slick is spreading his music far and wide.

The up-and-coming singer landed in Jamaica recently for a two-week promotional stint for his latest single, Dreaming, which is featured on the Capital One Riddim by Armz House Records.

“I’m back in Jamaica at the moment to both promote my current single Dreaming and to record some new material to carry me into next year. Since I arrived, I’ve recorded two tracks, the first entitled Thirty One, for Seventeen Records, and I also have singles coming from Good Look Records, Kappah Records, Armz House Records and my label MacSlick Records.”

According to Slick, who was once the entertainment manager at the popular five-star hotel RIU, music has been a dominant force in his life since a tender age.

“I’ve been singing from I was a child, always wanted to be an artiste, and here I am today. I performed at Society Restaurant and Lounge with the Passion Reggae band every Tuesday night back home, and it has been a blessing to be making so much progress.”

With a number of big projects, including a collaboration with Daville, and two new music videos in the pipeline, Slick is confident he will make his mark in the years to come. “I make feel-good music, spiritual music and positive songs that people can learn from. Right now people see Chronixx, but he is just the smoke, I’m the fire that is coming to blaze in reggae music.”
