Summer was a successful one for Washington, DC-based reggae singer Ras Slick. With his Penultimate Tour in full swing, the singer is delivering workmanlike performances on several stages.

In July Ras Slick hit Nashville, Tennessee, for the first time, performing at an event dubbed Best of the Best, a two-day Caribbean Wine Festival.

In August Ras Slick and his band Dutty Bus Crew graced the stage of the first-ever DC World Reggae Music Festival with the likes of Shabba Ranks, Toots and the Maytals, Chronixx, Raging Fyah, Rupee, Jah Works, and KES the band. He wowed patrons with an hour-long set.

He also performed at Maryland’s newest concert hall, The Soundry, where he delivered a set comprising soulful reggae tracks. He aims to reach different audiences.

“I personally believe that one of the things working in my favour during my recent performances is my transition from cover music to predominately original songs,” said Ras Slick.

“Often my new tunes dem spark an unbreakable connection with audiences,” he continued.

Currently promoting songs including Late Night, Krazy Glue, Concentrate andCannabis Specialist, Ras Slick is gearing up for a busy fall season heading into the winter.

Originally from Westmoreland, Ras Slick (given name is Sylburn Rowe) has been a multiple recipient of the Best Vocalist Award at the annual Reggae Music Awards in Washington, DC.
